For young people involved in 4-H, county fairs are an opportunity to put months of hands-on learning into practice. This summer, Rubbermaid Commercial Products (RCP) helped support those experiences by putting durable, trusted tools directly into the hands of youth exhibitors.
Through a partnership with 4-H, RCP donated 1,000 BRUTE Farm 6G Pan Feeders to young people participating in four county fairs across the U.S. The program reached exhibitors in Marion County, Oregon; St. Charles, Missouri; Rockingham County, Virginia; and Williamson County, Tennessee, with 250 feeders distributed at each location.
The partnership connects RCP with one of the country’s largest youth-development organizations while supporting young people as they build skills through hands-on agricultural experiences.
Helping young people go Beyond Ready
4-H helps millions of young people develop practical skills, confidence and leadership through experiences ranging from agriculture and animal science to STEM and civic engagement.
RCP’s partnership supports 4-H’s mission to help young people go “Beyond Ready” by providing products they can use in the environments where they are learning, caring for animals and preparing to exhibit at their local fairs.
For RCP, the program also creates an opportunity to introduce BRUTE Farm Feeders to the next generation of agricultural customers in an authentic setting where product durability and performance matter.
Putting BRUTE to work at county fairs
BRUTE products have long been designed for demanding environments, and the Farm Feeders extend that durability to agricultural applications.
Rather than simply showcasing the products, RCP placed them directly with 4-H exhibitors so they could be used as part of their fair experience. Across the four events, youth received the feeders for use with their animals and were able to experience the product firsthand.
The activations also gave RCP an opportunity to hear directly from young exhibitors about their experiences and capture stories from the fairs to share across 4-H and RCP digital channels.
By showing up in agricultural communities and supporting the young people developing skills within them, RCP is building connections with a new generation while helping provide the tools they need to learn, participate and succeed.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment between RCP and 4-H to hands-on learning and to helping prepare young people for what comes next.
