It’s that time of year again! For the tenth consecutive year, Newell Brands and its Charitable Foundation proudly returned as sponsors to the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) Back-to-School Bash. Held on July 20 at the Georgia World Congress Center, this annual event equips APS students and their families for the upcoming school year by providing free backpacks, school supplies, health screenings, and essential resources.

The Newell Brands Charitable Foundation partnered with Empty Stocking Fund (ESF) to support APS students through a $10,000 donation. ESF, an Atlanta-based nonprofit, ensures disadvantaged children receive gifts during the holiday season and essential supplies throughout the year. With product donations totaling over 350,000 units from iconic brands like Paper Mate®, Sharpie®, Elmer’s®, and Prismacolor®, over 5,000 backpacks were filled and distributed at no cost to excited students. Newell employees also volunteered at the event, assisting guests, guiding families through the Bash, and ensuring every student received a backpack full of supplies to set them up for success.

This year, Newell Brands hosted a booth where students could stop by to try out Sharpie and Paper Mate’s new Creative Markers and InkJoy Gel Bright! pens. Families could also choose a gift of either water bottles from bubba®, Elmer’s Gue premade slime, or Paper Mate Flair pens.
